we'll sail into the moonlight...

Mutiny on the Dawn (Alan Doyle)

How dare we tread on the sixth of Feb, aboard a Norwegian ship?
All the brass and taps all tip their hats as through their hands we slipped
We'll be on our best behaviour, until we note the lines were cut
Now here we stand, our swords in hand and one foot on the cusp
Now understand our master plan no mercy shall we show
The captain on the quarterdeck will be the first to go

All aboard! Heave away!
We'll make the ranks all walk the planks and give the dogs their day
We'll dance into the moonlight and sing our victory song
We'll sail into the moonlight and mutiny on the dawn
We'll sail into the moonlight and mutiny on the dawn!

As our delight will go by night, let rapture take the wheel
A sea of stars will all be ours, all sentences repealed
The hedonistic pleasures of likes you've never seen
The drink more there be measured, last call will ne'er be screamed
There will be no reservations aboard our ship of fools
Prancing without hesitation, barenaked by the pool!

All aboard! Heave away!
We'll make the ranks all walk the planks and give the dogs their day
We'll dance into the moonlight and sing our victory song
We'll sail into the moonlight and mutiny on the dawn
We'll sail into the moonlight and mutiny on the dawn!

The night won't last forever, we'll just have to race the sun
If we keep our eyes for the evening spied I'm sure it can be done
So join the revolution or you'll be o'er the side
And the cold hard rise of daytime will be your just demise
To such a fight the morning light and the judgement that it brings
We'll chase the moon and the sinner's tune will drive us all to sing

All aboard! Heave away!
We'll make the ranks all walk the planks and give the dogs their day
We'll dance into the darkness and sing our victory song
We'll sail into the moonlight and mutiny on the dawn

All aboard, heave away
We'll make the ranks all walk the planks and give the dogs their day
We'll dance into the darkness and sing our victory song
We'll sail into the moonlight and mutiny on the dawn
We'll sail into the moonlight and mutiny on the dawn
We'll sail into the moonlight and mutiny on the dawn!

for all interested, this is the Norwegian Dawn:

  1. Just a few things that I heard differently (although I am amazed that you heard this much, actually):

    Verse 1:
"AS through their hands we slipped"
"And one foot on the cuff"

    Verse 2:
    "Let RAPTURE take the wheel"
    "All SENTENCES REPEALED"
"The hedonistic pleasures THE likes OF which you've never seen"
    "Aboard OUR ship of fools"
    "PRACTICING without hesitation"
"Barenaked by the POOL" (I heard no "they're")

    Verse 3:
"And the JUDGMENT that it brings"
(Could not understand the line after it for the life of me)

Of course, I could be totally wrong, but that's the way it sounded to me...
